15 mile long dirt road in the adobe hills between Montrose and Delta. The soil is Bentonite clay and impassable when wet (do NOT attempt). This road is very exposed and hot in the summer, better in fall, winter and spring (when not wet). It sees heavier car and truck traffic with trailers on the weekend as this road accesses dirt bike/OHV trails in the Peach Valley/Gunnison Gorge recreation areas. Many other dirt roads connect with this road making numerous loops possible. Suitable for passenger cars and gravel bikes.
